Ethical Leaders and Organizational Impact

Registration is open for a two-day training that pairs executive leadership development with the practical work of strengthening policy, building professional best practices, and reducing organizational risk. Attend one day or both.

There is no charge for ALEAP member agencies. Non-member agencies pay $150 per attendee. The training is open to all Arizona agencies, and seating is limited.

ACE and FOCUS members may apply this training toward one of their two annual training requirements.

Day One: Ethical Leaders and Organizational Impact

What separates a leader with authority from a leader who earns trust?

Ethical leadership shapes how employees experience the organization, how teams perform under pressure, and how communities view the agency. This course challenges leaders to examine how their decisions, behaviors, and values influence employee wellness, organizational culture, accountability, and public trust.

Participants will explore moral courage, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, ethical decision-making, organizational identity, and leading with purpose. Through practical tools and case studies, leaders will learn how to navigate conflict and pressure while creating alignment, commitment, and a healthier organization prepared for both today and the future.

About the presenter: Chief Deanna Cantrell (ret'd) is Director of Law Enforcement Partnerships for Axon and former Chief of Police in Fairfield and San Luis Obispo, California, following 22 years with Mesa, AZ PD, where she rose from Officer to Assistant Chief. She is an Executive Fellow with the National Policing Institute and teaches Advancing Ethical Leade#301C80rship for CA POST.

Day Two: ALEAP Practitioner Course

If policy establishes what an agency is expected to do, what demonstrates that it is actually being done?

Proofs that do not substantiate compliance. Directives written to a title rather than the required elements. Compliance that weakens between assessments. This advanced course addresses the issues most often returned to agencies, and what it takes to prevent them.

The course covers policy that mitigates risk and documents accountability, the new 6.0 Standards Manual and review process, and the release of two documents:

The File Preparation and Submission Requirements, receive updates on how to format uploads of compliance files to ensure there's no delay in the completion of your annual assessment review or your final assessor reviews.

Designed for accreditation managers and command staff with program oversight. This is not an introductory course, and no pre-work is required.
