Grant Opportunities
ALEAP partners closely with the COPS Office to pursue grant funding that helps Arizona agencies achieve accreditation. We recognize that the cost of accreditation can be a real barrier for agencies working within tight budgets, and that challenge is often most pronounced in smaller departments. For that reason, our grant efforts prioritize rural, small, and tribal agencies that might otherwise be unable to take this important step.
We are sincerely grateful to the COPS Office for making these opportunities possible and for their continued investment in advancing professionalism across Arizona law enforcement.

10/2025 - 10/2027 COPS GRANT
Rural Initiative for Standards Excellence Program
ALEAP is helping small, rural, and tribal Arizona law enforcement agencies reach professional accreditation standards, fully funded through a U.S. Department of Justice COPS Office grant. This program is for agencies of 35 or less sworn officers. If you’ve been considering enrollment, now’s the time to send in your application!
What's Included: - No enrollment fees and annual dues through 2027! - $4,500 towards a new agency policy manual through Lexipol or Edwards & Amato - Accreditation management software provided at no cost to the agency - Hands-on support from a dedicated coordinator

Sheriff's Department Standards
This funding will establish a collaborative working group tasked with developing accreditation standards specific to the functions of Sheriff's departments. The goal is to ensure that the comprehensive range of services and responsibilities carried out by Sheriff's departments, which often extend well beyond those of municipal police agencies, are appropriately addressed within the standards framework.
